You don't need a referral to see a psychologist in Australia, however, it does help subsidise the cost making it more affordable for you. To obtain a referral, please visit your GP and discuss your current concerns to see if you are eligible for referral under a Mental Health Care Plan, allowing for up to 10 subsided sessions.
Yes, we do! We offer a range of assessments for all ages and have both face-to-face and telehealth options available. The price and process varies depending on the type of assessment being delivered, and the age of clients being assessed. We work with individuals across the lifespan - children, adolescents and adults - to provide personalised care at a location convenient to you. We provide support to individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress related concerns, Autism, ADHD, Cognitive Impairment, Intellectual Disability and a range of other mental illnesses, disability and family, life or work stressors. Please note prices vary depending on location, referral pathway and service being provided, however:
The general cost of a standard 50-minute session is $185. If you have a referral from your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible to receive a rebate of $98.95 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Out of pocket cost = $86.05 per session.
Please Note:
• Referrals under WorkCover, DVA, Open Arms, Head-to-Health, PHN, EAP or NDIS have no out of pocket expense.
• Private paying clients may be eligible for a rebate through their private health fund, however, both private health fund and Medicare rebates cannot be accessed at the same time. Rebates vary depending on fund of choice and level of cover.
